Backing Young Entrepreneurs in South Wales

July 2018

Entrepreneurial spirit is rife, with over 400 million people worldwide owning their own business, and two out of three people seeing entrepreneurship as a desirable career choice. Though the average age of modern entrepreneurs is at 40 years old with three in four entrepreneurs having over six years’ industry experience, a new age of young entrepreneurs in their 20s and 30s is on the rise. Driven by the flexibility, control over decisions and salary offered by an entrepreneurial lifestyle, young people are increasingly taking on risk and pushing boundaries, with some even starting businesses whilst studying.

With Icon owing its success to a young entrepreneurial Graphic Designer twenty years ago, we’re proud to sponsor the ‘Young Entrepreneur of the Year’ Award at the South Wales Argus Business Awards this year. The award is open to business people under the age of 35 who have successfully built their own business or had an outstanding impact in contributing to the successes of a larger organisation.

The South Wales Argus Business Awards 2018 have a range of categories from Business of the Year to Lifetime Achievement Award, with nominations open until 20th July. More information about the awards and how to enter is available here. Interested in seeing some of our work or want to know more? Get in touch or view our portfolio here.
