As a creative agency, we understand the importance colour has in creating brand recognition and communicating personality and messaging through every touchpoint. With a coral colour in our own brand colour palette, we were excited to find that this year’s Pantone Colour of the Year is Pantone 16-1546, also known as Living Coral.
Not only a colour that has been described as “sociable and spirited,” Living Coral also reminds us of the current environmental issues we face. It encourages brands and consumers to be more mindful of their impact and gives brands an opportunity to drive home an environmental message by associating themselves with the Pantone colour.
Pantone’s executive director, Leatrice Eiseman, said about the choice: “Colour is an equalising lens through which we experience our natural and digital realities and this is particularly true for Living Coral. With consumers craving human interaction and social connection, the humanising and heartening qualities displayed by the convivial Pantone Living Coral hit a responsive chord.”
We’re looking forward to seeing Living Coral take hold throughout fashion, interior and design trends in the coming year and seeing how the colour is applied through products and marketing to reinforce an environmental message.
