Undergraduate Recruitment Campaign - Swansea University

It's back to university for us. With our previous campaigns doing great things for Swansea's undergraduate recruitment, it was time to think afresh for their next three-year campaign. Crafting the undergraduate recruitment campaign for Swansea University’s centenary year, we explored new and exciting ways to give the campaign an impact worthy of the 100th anniversary celebrations. The undergraduate prospectus has been shortlisted alongside the Swansea University Undergraduate Recruitment campaign for this year's Heist Awards, result of a great collaborative approach between client and designers!
To set Swansea apart from their competitors and guided by feedback from focus groups and questionnaires, we developed an illustrated approach; one that let us showcase Swansea and the university in a way that a photograph can’t.

For the 2020 recruitment campaign, we’ve rolled out various illustrations across all manner of marketing material from billboards and digital exhibition stands to Snapchat and Swansea University’s website. It also allowed for a fresh take on the prospectus, where we were able to use illustration to highlight key messages, break down more complex information and make it an exciting read for future Swansea University students.
We also created a Welcome Pack to send to students embarking on their university journey. The pack consists of an enamel pin badge, stickers, magnets, a university checklist and a stress-relieving colouring notebook.
“We have worked with Icon for several years and have a great working relationship, they have a real understanding of what Swansea University is about and how best to communicate that to our target audience.”
