With an emphasis on meeting people, having fun and making the most of on-site and off campus facilities, Get Active needed to resonate with those unlikely to sign up to competitive sports. 

 

Aligned with the Sport Swansea brand, this strand of activity required its own distinct lifestyle personality resonating through the university’s digital channels and event programme. Kayaking, biking, yoga, frisbee and boules were just some of the activities on the Get Active programme emphasising the experiential aspect of getting involved.

Fresher’s Fair was one of the first opportunities to launch the Get Active campaign to incoming students and needed to stand out in a bustling venue full of competing offers. QR codes on publicity materials made initial sign-ups easier and further integrated the offer within the university community.

 

A scheduled time-table of tasters, monthly challenges and programme updates will shape the campaign goals as the academic year progresses with further opportunities to promote the social and mental benefits in an increasingly tailored and personal manner.
