We won! Our summer started with an award for ‘Outstanding Contribution to Employability’ from our client, Swansea University for our campaign work with SEA (Swansea Employability Academy).
It was also fantastic to be recognised by the business community in South East Wales, working with local organisations in Newport on successful marketing campaigns. We were honoured to receive the award for ‘Small Business of the Year’ at the South Wales Argus Business Awards and ‘Digital and Marketing Agency of the Year’ at the V Awards.
Our hard work at creating bespoke events and marketing campaigns for Kingsway Centre also helped the Newport shopping centre secure the coveted ‘Entertainment/Shopping Complex of the Year’ at the Welsh Hospitality Awards in Cardiff for the first time ever.
The onset of the awards season is the culmination of a whirlwind year for the Icon team; we launched our new website, became Sustainable Wales Cynnal Cymru members, prioritising our commitment to becoming a zero waste studio and became creative partner to the awe inspiring Westfield Health British Transplant Games.
We sadly bid farewell to designer Fearghas as he left South Wales for New South Wales, welcomed our newest recruit Holly to the team and grew our client to list to include Hodge Bank, PHS Group, Newcastle University, Kings College London, Birmingham City University and Sony UK, all whilst tending to the ever-increasing demands of our office cat, Mr Scruffles. If 2019 is anything to go by, we’re excited for what’s to come in the new year.
