We’re excited to welcome Scott to the Icon team! A 2023 graduate and now our newest Junior Designer, he’s hit the ground running.
Before joining us, Scott cut his teeth at Au Vodka, one of the UK’s fastest-growing companies where he worked on everything from brand design and layout to large-scale campaigns, both nationally and internationally. He’s already got a track record of meaningful creative work, including projects focused on community impact and brand development.
Quick Q&A...
1. So Scott, how have you found your first few months at Icon?
It’s been a great experience stepping into a new role here; everyone's been so welcoming and the studio is a gem of a space to work in. Being part of a creative team has definitely shaped how I approach design. The collaboration pushes me to think differently and stay sharp which I’ve really been enjoying.
I’ve also been diving deeper into motion design. I love how animation can turn simple visuals into something more engaging and expressive; it really helps bring a brand’s personality to life.
I’m also building up my skills in branding and concept development, aiming to keep that balance between creativity and strategy. Each project is a chance to push my thinking and grow.
2. Outside the office…

When I’m not at my desk, you’ll probably find me outdoors, or negotiating a peace treaty with my cats, who firmly believe they’re in charge (and they’re not wrong).
I’m a fan of flat whites, an active wanderer always chasing the next scenic trail, and I’ve got a soft spot for film scores, Ludwig Göransson delivers every time.
To keep the creative spark going, I turn to more things I enjoy like outdoor cinemas, being immersed in design books, or simply unwinding at a comedy club. Time with family helps me slow down and reconnect, reminding me that the best ideas often come from everyday moments.
3. Can you siarad Cymraeg? (ie. Can you speak Welsh?)
Ydw! (yes!) I’m a proud Welshman, born and raised in the scenic landscapes of West Wales. Welsh is an integral part of my background, it allows me to approach projects with a cultural lens, helping create work that feels more authentic, inclusive, and mindful of bilingual audiences. It’s a skill I’m continuing to strengthen as I bring that side of my identity into the team.
4. Any other observations so far?
I’ve loved being able to dive into a mix of different projects; every brief brings something new to the table. From designing layouts to getting involved in brand thinking, it’s been fun to work across so many areas and see how our team flexes creatively. I’m excited to keep growing here and making work that delivers real results for clients.
On a different note, I've also discovered that I'm a semi decent darts player although I'm yet to hit a triple 20 on the work's dart board... but there's plenty of time!
